Shirley A. Sahli 1942-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Shirley Ann Sahli, 82, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, March 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 25, 1942, in Youngstown, a daughter of Nicholas and Mary Cordova Young.
Shirley was a graduate of East High School.
She was a devoted homemaker for most of her life, always ensuring her family was well cared for. She also spent part of her career as a driving instructor, where she enjoyed helping new drivers gain independence on the road. Shirley also worked as a sales associate for Samuels Jewelers for many years, where she sold gold jewelry.
Shirley had various interests that brought her happiness, including her adoration for her family, playing Bingo and enjoying card games, often bringing friends and loved ones together for cheerful gatherings. She will be remembered not only for her nurturing spirit but also for the moments of joy she created for those around her. Shirley, as well as her family, looked forward to Spaghetti Sunday, when it brought the family together making memories around the table.
Her profound love for her family was evident in all that she did.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband, Dean Sahli Sr., whom she married on May 20, 1967; her sons, Dean (Kerri Lynn) Sahli Jr. of North Jackson and James Sahli of Mineral Ridge; her sister, Donna Vecchione of Struthers; her brothers, Michael Young of Las Vegas and Nicholas (Victoria) Young Jr. of Struthers; former daughter-in-law, Tresa (Barry) Benchwick of Salem; grandchildren, Drake, Kayla, Ella and Izak Sahli, and Zaina (Dylan) Tomaino; great-grandson Hayes Tomaino; brother-in-law, Joseph Roberts; sister-in-law Kimberly Young; and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Patrick Young; sister, Sandra Roberts; her grandson, Gavin Sahli; and her brother-in-law, Carmen Vecchione.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
