W. Paul Featsent 1941-2025

HUDSON — Wendall Paul Featsent, 83, formerly of Hubbard, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Thursday March 13, 2025, at Danbury of Hudson.

Paul was born May 5, 1941, in Sharon, Pa., a son of Wendell P. Sr. and Kathryn Wittenauer Featsent.

Paul was a loving, kind and generous soul who adored his five grandsons and was so proud of them. He enjoyed going on long walks and loved to travel with his wife Patty, especially to the Smoky Mountains. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by all of his family.

For over 25 years he was a senior engineer at Packard Electric Delphi Division of General Motors, retiring in 1999. He also holds a patent in fiber optics.

Paul was a longtime member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.

His wife, the former Patricia A. Vargo, whom he married Feb. 20, 1965, passed away Jan. 26, 2023.

Paul will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his children, Jonathan (Ann) Featsent of Mentor and Marie (Michael) Perry of Hudson; and five grandchildren, Paul, Matthew, Brayden, Noah and Jacob.

He also leaves his sister, Kathleen Coates of Hubbard; sisters-in-law, Peggy Yeager and JoAnn Vargo Ball, both of Hubbard, and Roseann Modak of Niles; and several nieces and nephews.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Paul will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
