Anthony M. Stanko 1952-2025

NILES — Anthony M. “Butch” Stanko, 72, died peacefully with his family by his side at Hospice House, Wednesday evening, April 2, 2025.
Anthony was born Dec. 27, 1952, in Youngstown, a son of Anthony C. and Ann Mitchell Stanko.
In 1971, as a junior at Mineral Ridge High School, Anthony started work as a line worker at General Motors. In 2002, 31 years later, he enjoyed a well-deserved retirement.
Anthony was a devoted member of St. John Orthodox Church in Warren. He was also a member and employee of Thousand Trails Campgrounds.
His hobbies were camping, gardening and tinkering. Anthony cherished his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Anthony will always be remembered by his wife of 34 years, Karen Kaminski Stanko, whom he married Sept. 1, 1990; his children, Christine (Christopher) Dunbar, Amy Silver (David Alcorns) and Anthony IV (Jennifer) Stanko; grandchildren, Cassandra (Anthony) Zufall, Carolyn Rench, Victoria Beck, Jacob, Sophie, Jonah and Elijah Silver, Mario Stanko, Jasmine, Brandan and Kaitlynn Dunbar; six great-grandchildren, Isabella, Mia, Elizabeth, Jordon, Theo and Easton; in-laws, Butch Reed, Richard (Robin) Kaminski, Lorraine Anderson, Kenneth (Kim) Kaminski and Kelley Kaminski; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his sisters, MaryAnn Lewis, Judith Reed and Carol Jean Colarich; and in-laws, Henry “Sonny” and Darlene Kaminski.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Anthony 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren.
Additional calling hours will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.Monday, April 7, 2025, at the funeral home, with a service to follow at 10:30 a.m.
