Carroll L. Megginson 1941-2025

STRUTHERS — Carroll “Jerry” Lee Megginson, 83, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 13, 2025, at his home.
He was born July 16, 1941, in Concord, Virginia, to the late Ollie and Lucille Turner Megginson.
Carroll was a proud member of the United States Marines and served during the Vietnam War. When he returned from his duty, he worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube until they closed, and then retired from Copperweld Steel.
A country boy at heart, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He had a deep love for watching football and baseball, but nothing brought him more joy than his family. Carroll was a devoted father and “Pepaw,” always cherishing the moments spent with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Matthew (Stacy) Megginson of Struthers; two daughters, Adrienne Megginson of Struthers and Caroline (Jesse) Lavernuick of Lowellville; his grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Martin, Zachary, James, Anna and Olivia; his sister, Virginia Pitts; and his brothers, James Megginson and Nathaniel Megginson.
In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marlene, who passed away in 1990; his aunt and uncle, Emma and Norvell (Boss), who lovingly raised him; and his brothers, Haywood Megginson and Cleveland Megginson.
Calling hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, OH 44471.
He will then be taken to Virginia for services and to be laid to rest there.
