Frank J. Wielbruda 1933-2025

GIRARD — Frank Joseph Wielbruda, 91, passed away Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025, at Liberty Healthcare Center.
Frank was born July 24, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of the late Anthony and Sara Lipinsky Wielbruda, and was a lifelong area resident.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a company carpenter, stationed in Panama for two years. When he returned from the service, Frank dedicated more than 30 years of his career to Commercial Shearing, retiring in 1985 as a surface grinder operator.
Frank was a lifelong member of St. Columba Cathedral. He remained active in the community as a former member of the Commercial Shearing Retirees and the Liberty Historical Society. In his leisure time, he was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed following the sport throughout the years.
Frank is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria A. Leone Wielbruda, whom he married May 13, 1961; his two sons, Richard Wielbruda of Seattle, Washington, and Jeffrey (Kay) Wielbruda of Sierra Vista, Arizona; four grandsons, Anthony, Nicholas, John and Joseph; and many extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sisters, his twin, Frances Gutierrez, and Theresa A. Lorenzetti; his brother, Henry Wielbruda; his mother-in-law, Clara Leone; his brother-in-law, Jack Lorenzetti; and his sister-in-law, Dora Wielbruda.
Family and friends may gather to pay respects 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025, at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in Churchill Cemetery in Liberty Township.
