MASURY — Gilbert Howard Hite, 85, passed away late Friday evening, April 18, 2025, at his residence, following a brief illness.
He was born June 30, 1939, in Altoona, Pa., a son of Gilbert F. and Josephine R. Merciai Hite.
Gil was a 1957 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown and worked for U.S. Steel in Girard for 13 years.
He was a member of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church in Youngstown. He enjoyed music, watching good movies, animals and going back to visit Altoona, where he made many good memories. Most of all, Gil enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. He was a kind, loving brother and uncle and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gil is survived by his brother, Joseph C. (Gayle) Hite of Youngstown. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Gil will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
