James E. Kohn Jr. 1957-2025

Mike was born Aug. 9, 1957, to James E. Kohn Sr. and Bonnie L. Spiker Kohn.

He loved Elvis, fishing and being with his family, and his beloved dog, Gizmo. He was always the life of the party.

Mike was proud to serve his country as a Marine and served from 1974-1977.

Mike is survived by his son, Michael Kohn of Youngstown; two daughters, Crystal (Burton) Miller of Vienna and Jessica (Mark) Greenwalt of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren, Brandon (Janae), Jeni (Rob), Michael (Liv), Harley, Gregory, Blake (Aubrey), Gage, Hailey (Zach), Alan, JR, Lily (Katelyn), Declan and Aubrey; five great-grandchildren, Luca, Evelynn, Zachary, Rio and Oakley; three brothers, Jesse (Margie) of Liberty, Jerry of Girard and Jeffrey (Lori) of Liberty; two sisters, Rhonda (Willie Rice) of Vienna and Vernie Stankorb of Youngstown; three brothers-in-law, Raymond Gettings, Lynn (Michelle) Gettings and Floyd (Robin) Gettings, all of Hubbard; and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Marie Gettings Kohn; his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

The family will receive relatives and friends 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, with a funeral service following.

The family suggests contributions be made to Harmony Hospice Care, 7010 South Ave., Ste. 4, Youngstown, OH 44512, in honor of James Kohn Jr.
