Jill Anne Beck 1954-2025

COLUMBIANA — Jill Anne Orr Beck, 70, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, with her family by her side, after a brief battle with cancer.
Jill was born Nov. 2, 1954, in Salem, the daughter of Harold “Bernard” Orr and Olive June Miles. Jill was a 1972 graduate of Columbiana High School and enjoyed playing the piano for the choir during high school.
After graduation, she attended the former Cincinnati Bible Seminary, and graduated with an associate’s degree in church music.
In earlier years, she worked at the former William K. Stamets Company as a secretary and for the former Home Savings and Loan Company as a teller, both located in Columbiana. Jill was currently employed and worked in the office at Humtown Products in Columbiana up until the time of her illness. She also owned and operated Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and Columbiana for over 30 years with her husband, Mark.
Jill was an active member at East Palestine Church of Christ. Prior to that, she was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbiana. She served as the pianist there for over 50 years, and was also the pianist for the adult and children’s choirs. Besides sharing her talent as a pianist with the church, she also volunteered as the accompanist for the Columbiana High School Choir from time to time and the accompanist for students who attended solo and ensemble. Jill also gave piano lessons for many years to local students. She loved playing the piano, especially playing for church hymn sings and cantatas.
Besides her love of music, Jill enjoyed vacationing in Buckhorn, Ontario, for over 50 years with her family and has many friends there. She also enjoyed the Christmas season and loved sharing her Christmas decor with many friends and family. Most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Jill is survived by her husband, Mark, whom she married July 26, 1980; two daughters, Heidi (Randall) Troyer of East Rochester and Heather (Ry) Torhan of Columbiana; and five grandchildren, Emalynne and Easton Troyer, Lincoln and Livia Torhan, and Rasheeda (Jeffrey) Kalam. Jill is also survived by her twin brother, Jeff (Malenia) Orr of Leetonia; and her sister, Jennifer (David) Roberts of Andover. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; and by her puppy, Jake.
Jill was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jeanie.
