Margaret A. Matteson

POLAND — Margaret Ann Matteson, 86, was reunited Saturday, April 12, 2025, with her loving husband exactly six months from his passing at the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.
Born Feb. 15, 1939, in Youngstown, Margaret was the daughter of the late John Daichendt and Katherine Pavlesic Daichendt Paulmbo.
A 1957 graduate of Chaney High School, she went on to raise her family in a home filled with love, care and warmth.
Margaret was a devoted member of Boardman United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in the United Methodist Women’s Group and the cherished “Trash and Treasure” fundraising events. She also generously volunteered with the American Red Cross for 10 years. Her selfless spirit touched many lives.
She found joy in sewing, playing cards with friends and family, and cruising with her beloved husband, Kenneth Matteson. The two were married on March 28, 1958, and celebrated 66 years of marriage filled with enduring love and partnership until his passing on Oct. 12, 2024.
Margaret is survived by her four daughters, Darlene (Gary) Fay of Palm Bay, Florida, Charlene (Joe) Matacic of Girard, Kimberly (Tom) Caputo of Boardman and Sharon (Nicholas) Jordan of Boardman. She also leaves behind her siblings, John (Nance) Daichendt of Boardman, Virginia Vincent of Florida and Fred (Kathy) Palumbo of Boardman; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to the Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
