Martha Ella Takach, 1928-2025

COLUMBIANA — Martha Ella Takach, 97, formerly of North Lima, passed away Friday morning, April 11, 2025, her 97th birthday, at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana, with her son by her side.
Mrs. Takach was born on April 11, 1928, in New Martinsville, Marshall County, W.Va., a daughter of Samuel and Blanche Palmer Mason. She married Michael S. Takach Sr. on Feb. 14, 1947.
Martha was a member of the Church of Christ at Struthers for over 70 years. She loved her church and adored her husband. She was talented musically and played many musical instruments, including the banjo. She also enjoyed ‘country sings’ — friendly get-togethers to sing and play her instruments. She was an expert at crocheting and making doilies.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her sons, David of North Lima, Michael of Columbus and Charles and his wife Teri of Leetonia; and her brother, Richard (Marge) Mason of Columbiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael, who passed away on Dec. 3, 2000; sister, Mary Ann Knowles; and brother, Robert Mason.
Private services were held, and the burial was at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
