Metro Senedak 1931-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Metro Senedak, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025, in the comfort of his home, with the love of his family by his side.

Metro was born Nov. 10, 1931, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Anna Senedak, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1951 graduate of Chaney High School and worked as a machinist in the tool and die industry, employed by Oldberg Manufacturing and later Hynes Steel, from where he retired.

Metro proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Metro cheered wholeheartedly for the Cleveland Browns and enjoyed watching baseball, a game he actively played in his younger years. He also loved spending weekends at Holiday Camplands, where he and his family camped for more than 50 years.

Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends.

Metro is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathryn Magimore Senedak; two sons, Christopher Senedak and Matthew J. (Anita) Senedak, both of North Jackson; two grandsons, Matthew (Rachel) Batcho and Steven (Brandi) Spicker; his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Senedak; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Metro was preceded in death by four siblings, Michael Senedak, who was killed in action during World War II, Mary Balog, Charles Senedak and George Senedak; his brother-in-law, Mike Balog; and his sister-in-law, Olga Senedak.

Family and friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown. A funeral procession will follow at 1 p.m. to Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown, where military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 9571 and committal will take place.
