Robert L. Mahaffey 1937-2025

Bob was born Jan. 19, 1937, in Youngstown, a son of the late Robert W. and Wilma Decker Mahaffey.

After graduating from North High School in 1955, where he won many medals for track and high hurdles, Bob enlisted in the Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hornet.

Bob spent his whole working career at General Motors Lordstown assembly plant.

He was a member of UAW Local #1112 and enjoyed golfing and traveling.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former Sandra Lisko Liberto, whom he married May 19, 1984; sons, Robert J. (Colleen) Mahaffey of Youngstown, Mark A. (April) Mahaffey of Hubbard and Brian A. (Charlene) Mahaffey of Chester, W.Va.; grandchildren, Brian W. Mahaffey and Philip (Nicole) Liberto; and two great-grandchildren, Baylor and Brynlee Liberto.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Jakubek, Donna McDaniel and Carol Goad.

There are no calling hours or funeral services. He will be laid to rest in Belmont Park Cemetery.
