A guy who cheated his employees and shredded the evidence was elected the next senator from Ohio. Some people “who served their country” and displayed Trump yard signs, apparently didn’t mind he called them suckers and losers. The “majority” must see what’s wrong as right and what’s right as wrong. WTH happened to us?

The editorial entitled “Loyal to Trump? Then you are hired” ended with this: “Many of Trump’s selections have been criticized for a lack of credentials for the posts for which they have been nominated. But the one credential all seem to share is demonstrated loyalty to their would-be boss.” Fair statement. When the Biden administration was picking people whose only credentials fit the woke, diversity, equity and inclusion criteria, did you write an editorial criticizing that too?

With apologies to poet Robert Burns for a minor change to his prayer “From ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggeddy beasties, and things that go …” Trump “… in the night, good Lord deliver us.” Worked great to repulse Gaetz.

If Speaker Johnson hired a plumber to plumb his house who connected the water line to the septic tank and the septic tank to the water meter would he sue the plumber who had since become an electrician? If you answer no, then you will be surprised by what’s on tap for Speaker Johnson’s House.

Pandora opened the gift box from Zeus and all manner of evils flew out, but one good thing Zeus gave — hope — was left behind as she slammed the lid. Is Speaker Johnson afraid accounts of evil drug use and sex with minors flying out and leaving his hope of preserving his integrity behind when 47 slams the lid on the ethics committee’s report? Just asking, as a former “journalist.” his mouth agape, would say.

Eight years ago, it was separating families at the border. We saw an 8-year-old changing the diaper of a 2-year-old, a 5-year-old crying herself to sleep, a dad having to say goodbye to his 10-year-old. Now it’s deporting law-abiding individuals who are working menial jobs no American will do. These parents are scrambling to find someone to care for their children before they’re forced out. Is there anything more cruel and traumatizing than taking responsible, caring parents from their children?

It’s way past time when we should be identifying ourselves as Americans. Discard the hyphen. If you were born in the United States or were naturalized, you are an American. You are not an Arab-American, Italian-American, Irish-American, or Cuban-American. No other country identifies this way. They are not French-German or Italian-Spanish. Yes, respect your ancestry, practice and pass on your traditions, preserve your heritage. When we think of ourselves as Americans, we might begin to come together as a country.

I have a comment and then a question for all of the “animal rights activists,” who are losing their minds regarding the deer culling in Mill Creek Park. First, animals do not have “rights” — people have rights. Animals deserve to be treated humanely, which many would argue is actually occurring by the controlled removal of deer from an overpopulated herd. My question is how would these activists feel if one of their loved ones was seriously injured or killed as a result of the many deer-vehicle accidents occurring around the park? Thin the herd!

Millcreek metroparks board of commissioners consists of 5 members each serving a 3 year term. At the end of each term an application process is to be published to the public by the Probate Judge who appoints the commissioner. No applications were published

for this or last year and the Judge reappointed the 2 outgoing commissioners. This board has been in place and unchecked since at least 2018 with no opportunity for anyone to replace them. We need changes in MCMP.

All the foreign investors who placed NFT bets on our election, will now be able to gamble on propositions like Debacle of the Quarter, Putins next Friendly Gesture, Pace of increased unemployment, Can milk top $5 a gallon without total agribusiness dominance. Another great measure of government performance.

As all pro-lifers do, I believe in the sanctity of life from conception until natural death. So, it’s nice to know we will have a pro-life president who, because he believes the same, will enact a nationwide ban on abortion and a nationwide ban on the death penalty. And he will respect and protect the dignity and rights of every human being in our country. We can all breathe easier now.

After discovering the amount of money spent on this election, I have a new slogan for Americans, “Welcome to the USA, land of the rich and home of the poor.” I only hope and pray that God grants us protection and strength to endure the next four years.

Trump’s plans to defund all colleges that teach DEI. The logic is to prevent unqualified minorities from receiving jobs. Yet, he is recommending cabinet members who have little to no experience and, in some cases, have possible crimes in their background. Check out Matt Gaetz, Robert \ F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Hegseth. They would each weaken their departments and national security. He is also asking for no background checks and / or recess appointments. Clearly, he is asking for yes men and not the best men. This will be the least qualified and diverse cabinet in decades.

ORCHID: To those residents who take advantage of good-weather days to put up Christmas decorations and lights, but wait until AFTER Thanksgiving to turn them on. ONION: To those car owners with super-bright headlights — possibly 10,000 NITS of brightness — that blind the vision of oncoming drivers.
