DEAR EDITOR:

The year was 1974. A loaf of bread was 33 cents. One gallon of gas was 53 cents. A dozen eggs would put you back 78 cents, and it was less than one dime to buy a first-class stamp.

It was the year Sherrod Brown started collecting a government paycheck.

This career politician is clinging to a lifetime gig in government that began in 1974 and is in the political fight of his life against businessman Bernie Moreno.

Brown will say and do anything to keep collecting that taxpayer funded paycheck that’s fed his family his entire life. So much so that his allies are now launching divisive personal attacks on Moreno.

Ohio taxpayers not only deserve better than the tired old politics of personal destruction, they do deserve a Senator who fights for them, not for themselves.

It’s time we retire longtime career politician Sherrod Brown.

The last thing Ohio needs is to send another career politician back to Washington.

Reject the personal attacks ordered by Sherrod Brown. Embrace the business owner Bernie Moreno.
