DEAR EDITOR:

OK, Donald Trump won. I won’t whine like 45 did. Wait a minute, I can’t whine like that because:

• I don’t have billions to buy support for any lies I tell.

• SCOTUS hasn’t given me the above the law status of a king.

• I don’t have minions controlling Congress and ignoring my impeachable acts.

• l have a conscience that outweighs my chutzpah.

Absolutely, Donald Trump is president for the next four years. During that time we will relearn what absolute power does. Then we can reflect on the words from Matthew that “by their fruits will you know them.” I hope we will be better for surviving the rot we’ve wrought. It won’t be easy. By 2028 we may have abandoned our allies, sold our First Amendment rights to X, bankrupted our economy with inflationary tariffs, put sycophants in command of our military and dumbed down any notion of critical thinking.

There will be other elections. Maybe.
