Lots to enjoy in The Vindicator

DEAR EDITOR:

As a Vindicator subscriber for decades, I find it a great source for national and local news.

Another great read is Farm and Dairy, printed in nearby Salem since 1914. Pick up a copy at newsstands if you are interested in how agriculture affects all of us. You will learn how the new administration’s policies affect farmers and the food on your table, as well as school lunches and food stamps. There are also many other (and often amusing) articles, a full page or recipes, and human interest stories — one such story was of neighbors, friends and strangers pulling together to find homes for 70 animals after a family tragedy.

Back to The Vindicator! I thoroughly enjoy the variety of articles from David Skolnick, “To Your Good Health,” and of course, “Burt’s Eye View.” How about “Lovina Eicher’s Amish Kitchen?” She makes an impromptu brunch for 12 sound like a trip through the drive-thru.

Where else but The Vindicator will you find such a large comics section? It’s comforting to know that “Dennis the Menace” will never grow up and “Mary Worth” continues to solve her neighbors’ problems. I see myself in “Pickles.”

Decisions, decisions! Every day I must decide if that second cup of coffee is worth losing my chair to the cat.
