Land of the rich, home of the poor
DEAR EDITOR:
Regarding the opinion of Steve Dunn:
The first thought, after reading the whole article, was if he and his family were personally attacked by any of the carnage being affected on four generations of my family.
Born and raised during the Great Depression, we survived with the help of people who, like us, pulled together and provided the systems that made it possible for us to exist, it is now called Social Security.
Each generation working, paying their taxes and dues to provide a future for the next one.
As to the rest of the article, where is the proof of his statements that just because some politicians corrupt the system, that whole agencies should be gutted and done away with?
Millions of Americans paid those tax dollars and depend on the rest of the people we elect to do their jobs and protect our rights so that we can provide a decent future for all four generations of my family.
Right now, that future is “Welcome to America, land of the rich and home of the poor.”
