Where are the Democrats’ ideas?

DEAR EDITOR:

The country is $37 trillion in debt and politicians of both parties have talked about the deficit since President Ronald Reagan decades ago but nothing has ever been done. While anybody in congress could have started changing things nobody did.

Now that somebody has been elected to do something, everybody is trying to block somebody’s efforts. It is long past time that our elected officials work for the common good of everybody and join with somebody who is finally doing something to make the deficit go away.

If everybody (Democrats) doesn’t like what somebody (President Donald Trump) is doing, they should put forth suggestions to assist in changing things by discussing other possible solutions instead of rioting, calling names, boycotting and blocking the path of change that somebody has initiated.

The many letters to the editor in recent weeks have been very negative and divisive toward the President and have not offered other possible solutions, but have only caused a bigger split among the citizens and both political parties.
