GIRLS BASKETBALL

Chaney 52, Poland 40 — Alyssa Brown dominated for the Cowboys with 27 points in the win over the Bulldogs. Adding to the offensive attack was Janiah Eiland with 10 points and Simone Lewis put up seven points. Chaney went two-of-four from the free-throw line as well. In the loss, Lucy Harrell led Poland with 16 points while Sophia Generalovich added eight and Leanna Boccieri tallied seven to lead the Bulldogs. The team shot three-of-11 from the charity stripe.

Boardman 57, Marlington 36 — In the win for the Spartans, Mikayla Rivera led all scoring with 16 points, while Sarah Bero and Ava Freeborough each tallied 15 points to lead Boardman. Marlington statistics were not submitted.

McDonald 41, Liberty 40 — Gracie Callow led the Blue Devils’ attack with 19 points to propel McDonald to the one-point win. Adding to the win was Julianna Krumpak with seven points and Cierra Shiley with six points. As a team, McDonald went nine-of-16 from the free-throw line. In the loss, Armani Franklin and Mia Benjamin each tallied 12 points for the Leopards, with Xenia Garcia adding eight.

Jackson-Milton 50, Chalker 21 — In the dominant win for the Blue Jays, Amani Yasin led with a game-high 16 points while Emma Johns added 12 points and Gabby Kerr and Nora Schwarted each added 10 to round out the Jackson-Milton scoring leaders. In the loss, Abby Grimm led the scoring with eight points, while Kylee Iser added four and Kylie Fusselman had three. As a team, the Blue Jays went six-of-13 from the free throw line while Chalker went five-of-19.

Maplewood 54, Mineral Ridge 42 — In the loss for the Rams, Sullivan Sandy scored a team-high 16 points with Norah Schneider recording eight points and Ava Hulett tallying seven. Mineral Ridge shot eight-of-11 from the free-throw line. Leading for the victors was Morgan Himes pulled in a game-high 19 points, Lauran Krieg recorded 16 points and Aliah Brumit tallied 10 points to round out the Maplewood offensive attack. The Bombers went 16-of-20 from the charity stripe.

East Palestine 31, Mathews 30 — In a game decided by one point, Jacklyn Ogle led the Bulldogs to the win behind a 12-point performance. Adding to the win was Marley Blythe with seven points, including the go-ahead free throw with 10 seconds left to play, and Sydney Jurjavcic and Kennedy Andre each had four to round out the East Palestine scoring leaders. Collectively, the team shot five-of-13 from the free-throw line. In the loss, Rilee Paddock led with 11 points, while Marlee Ruiter had seven points and Liz Rowan and Zoey Brown each had five points.

Newton Falls 48, Leetonia 10 — The Tigers were propelled to the dominant win behind 12 points from Lilly Sait. Madison Davis also tallied 11 points, while Kennedy Howard added eight, Hailey Kavaroch tallied five, Tori Fanton and Natalie Henderson each had four, Addison Pope had three and Logan Elliott added another. From the free-throw line, Newton Falls shot nine-of-26.

Lakeview 42, Champion 33 — The Bulldogs toppled the Golden Flashes due in part to 11 points from Sophie Irwin. Kalyssa Werner added 10 points, Annabelle Humphrey had eight points, Mackenzie Stowe added six, Izzy Isenberg had three and Sienna Terry and Paige Schwartz each had two. In the loss, Mackenzie Braham had a game-high 13 points with Brilea Woods adding six and Kennedy Caldwell adding five to lead Champion. From the charity stripe, Lakeview collectively shot seven-of-14.

LaBrae 57, Niles 46 — Ella Kuszmaul collected a game-high 23 points to lead the Vikings to the win over the Red Dragons. Riley Rowe added 11 points and Mariah Jones rounded out the scoring leaders with seven points. As a team, LaBrae shot 22-of-36 from the charity stripe. In the loss, Caroline Cormell led the offensive charge with 13 points, Kherington Stanford tallied 11 points and Gianna Wagner had eight points. Niles went six-of-15 from the free-throw line.

Cardinal 48, Windham 14 — Kaminski led the Huskies with 13 points in the win over the Bombers. Adding to the win was Soltis with eight points, Pleva with seven points, Young with 11 points, Krebs with five, Lehr with three and Kitzmiker with another point. Cardinal shot 5-of-16 from the charity stripe. In the loss, Makenna Jones and Brielle Jones each had six points, while Mackenzi Blockinger added two. Windham sank three of 15 from the free-throw line.
