BOYS BASKETBALL

South Range 66, Girard 42 — The Raiders’ two top scorers combined for 41 points as South Range blew past the Indians. Graham Heikinin led with 21 points and Rohan had 20 points. For Girard, Dom Phillips led with 13 while Dom Tolone was right behind with 12.

Fitch 78, Mayfield 52 — Carter Owens’ 31 points springboarded the Falcons to a 26-point thrashing of the Wildcats. Owens drained five three-pointers on the night. Marcel Finkley also added 15 points for Fitch. For Mayfield, Newman tallied 13 points to lead the Wildcats and Austin added 10.

West Branch 60, Marlington 49 — A 22-point third quarter launched the Warriors to the 11-point win over the Dukes. Jeremiah Thomas led all scorers with 19 points for West Branch. In the loss, Woods tallied 18 points and Denham added 11 for Marlington.

Harding 73, Villa Angela-St. Joseph 63 — Chaz Coleman exploded for 28 points to lead the Raiders to the 10-point win over the Vikings. Davion Herron added 21 points for Harding and Myles Miller collected 10. In the loss, OJ Spikes led with 10 points for VASJ.

Grand Valley 72, Mathews 70 — In a battle of the unbeaten Mustangs, Grand Valley pulled out the close, high-scoring affair over Mathews. Carter Turk tallied a game-high 27 points to lead Grand Valley to the win, while Braden Hart lent 19 points and Solly Schultz scored 10. Logan Linkesh led the smattering of Mathews players with double-digit nights with 17 points. Dom Toto was right behind with 16, while Anthony Morinkovich added 14, Caden Brubaker added 11 and Jake Petak tallied 10.

Columbiana 67, Leetonia 49 — Seth Struharik’s impressive 26-points was enough to earn a game-high scoring designation and propel the Clippers to the dominant win over the Bears. For Columbiana, Hunter Devanzo added 16 points and Cooper Broon tallied 10 to round out the leading scorers. For Leetonia in the loss, Carson Brock recorded 12 points and Brayden Earl added 11.

Fairport Harding 71, Badger 68 — The Skippers started hot and never let up to top the Braves Friday night. Twenty-three points from Ian Castellano was enough for him to earn the top-scorer slot for Fairport Harding. Yomar Castellano and Beardslee each added 14 to round out the Skippers’ leading scorers. Lewis Flowers led Badger with 20 points, while Tyler McWilliams added 18.

Lakeview 61, Niles 35 — A litter of Bulldogs tallied point totals in the double digits as Lakeveiw cruised to the dominant win over the Red Dragons. Leading scorer responsibilities for Lakeview were split between Carter Doran and Isaiah Lantz with 14 points each. Leo Parise added 11 and Trace Goyzueta’s 10 points rounded out the Lakeview leading scorers. For Niles, Tray Davis scored six points to lead the Red Dragons.

Salem 59, Minerva 58 — In a game decided by a single point, the Quakers pulled out the win over the Lions. A strong third-quarter performance from Evan Jones, on his way to 19 points on the night, played a crucial role in the Salem win. Deontay Steele lent 12 points and the duo Cletis Monroy and Ty Manion each added 10 points for Salem. In the loss, Owen Stick and Jayden Yerger each tallied 12 points, but Minerva was led by Brayden Wood’s 19 points.

Pymatuning Valley 64, Maplewood 45 — The Lakers handedly topped the Rockets in a Friday night win. Britton’s 17 points led all scorers, while Simon added 12 points and Croston tallied 10 to lead Pymatuning Valley. In the loss, Webster’s 16 points and Donaldson’s 13 led Maplewood.

Kennedy 72, Mogadore 43 — The Eagles left Mogadore victorious as they cruised to the dominant win over the Wildcats. Nick Ryan’s 23 points led all scorers, while Henry Phillips tallied 19 and Preston Geracitano added 11 to round out the Kennedy leading scorers. Jordan Smith recorded 13 points to lead Mogadore in the loss.

Hickory (Pa.) 60, Hubbard 33 — The Hornets cruised to the 27-point win over the Eagles. Mareo Miller led Hickory with 18 points while Trevor Borowicz added 17. For Hubbard, Kyle Barr and Braydon Songer split leading-scorer duties with nine points each.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Springfield 43, McDonald 22 — A strong first half for the Tigers was more than enough for the Blue Devils to handle as Springfield claimed the win. Jameka Brungard led Springfield with 15 points and Mariana Tuscano clipped 12 to add to the lead. For McDonald, Julianna Krumpak and Gianna Constantino each tallied seven points to lead the Blue Devils.

Chalker 39, Windham 21 — The Wildcats claimed the low-scoring affair over the Bombers thanks in part to an explosive third quarter from Abby Grimm. She led Chalker with 16 points while Kylee Iser lent 10 to round out the leading scorers. For Windham, Makenna Jones and Brielle Jones each tallied five points.

Brookfield 45, Liberty 22 — Marae Craig’s game-high 21 points was more than enough for the Warriors in the thrashing of the Leopards. Craig drilled three from beyond the arc. Mia Benjamin led Liberty in the loss with 11 points.

LaBrae 53, Newton Falls 18 — Despite a slower start in the first quarter, the Vikings stepped it up in the second quarter and didn’t let off the gas to dominate the Tigers. For LaBrae, Riley Rowe earned the top spot with 19 points. Ally Magoulick rounded out the Viking’s leading scorers with 12 points. In the loss, Morgan Kendall led Newton Falls with six points.
