BOYS BASKETBALL

Campbell 97, Badger 62 — A 41-year single game scoring record for Campbell was shattered in the Red Devils’ big win over the Braves. Josue Rodriguez scored 45 points to break the longstanding record and earn top-scorer designation for both teams. Adding to the win were Jared Colon and Teyon Harris who boasted 25 and 17 points, respectively, for Campbell. In the loss, Deegan Hunkus led Badger with 19 points, while Jack Harnett added 13 and Alton Winchek tallied 10.

Western Reserve 60, Lowellville 54 — The Rockets clawed back in the second half, but it was too little too late as the Blue Devils claimed the win. Western Reserve’s Connor Cochran led all scorers with 22, while Josh Klasic added 16 to lead the Blue Devils. In the loss, Vinny Sullivan led Lowellville with 20 points and Drew Modelski tallied 11 to round out the Rockets’ leading scorers.

Grand Valley 51, Berkshire 36 — The Mustangs’ unbeaten streak lives on following the Monday night win over the Badgers. Carter Turk accounted for more than half of the Grand Valley point total, burying five three-pointers on his way to a 29-point night. In the loss, Michael Constantini and Cameron Beam each recorded nine points to lead Berkshire.

Mathews 87, Kennedy Catholic (Pa.) 54 — The Mustangs fended off the invading Golden Eagles in a 33-point thrashing. Thanks in part to Dom Toto’s team-high 30 points, 14 from Anthony Marinkovich, Logan Linkesh boasting 11 and Caden Brubaker’s 10 points, Mathews earned the win. In the loss for Kennedy Catholic, Ravvion Venable led all scorers with 34 points while Jeheil Scarborough added 13.

Springfield 51, Mineral Ridge 37 — Relatively consistent scoring each quarter from the Tigers was enough for them to upend the Rams Monday night. Carson Cunningham led all scorers with 23 for Springfield, making 10 field goals. In the loss, Kaden Shaffer led Mineral Ridge with 13 points, nine of which came from beyond the arc.

Boardman 64, West Branch 59 — At West Branch, the Spartans held on despite a comeback attempt by the host Warriors. It was tied at 31 entering halftime, but the Spartans held a 10-point lead going into the third quarter. Jayse Varley led all scorers with 20 points for the Spartans, and Kaden Mayhew added 17 with 11 more coming from Terrell McDowell. Gavin Gregory led the Warriors with 19 points, Cooper Anderson was right behind with 17 and Jeremiah Thomas added 10.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bristol 33, Newton Falls 26 — An explosive third quarter was the difference maker for the Panthers as they topped the Tigers in Monday night’s low-scoring affair. In the loss, Addison Pope led Newton Falls with nine points. Bristol statistics were not submitted.

Boardman 52, Hubbard 34 — A strong start to Monday night’s contest was the difference maker as the Spartans cruised to the win over the Eagles. In the win, Ava Freeborough and Mikayla Rivera split leading scorer duties for Boardman with 14 points each, while Jocelyn Torres added 11 for the victors. Hubbard statistics were not submitted.

Poland 47, Badger 29 — A dominant first half from the Bulldogs proved more than the Braves could handle as Poland claimed the nearly 20-point win. Lucy Harrell led all scorers with 21 for Poland. In the loss, Emily O’Brien, Riley Thomas and Gabriella Miller each tallied seven points for Badger.

Canfield 46, Perry 32 — The Cardinals remain unbeaten following a win over the Pirates. Canfield jumped ahead early and kept its foot on the gas, thanks in part to a game-high 17 points from Jenna Triveri and 13 from Carly Fleming to lead the Cardinals. In the loss, V. Lynch led Perry with 11 points.

Lutheran East 99, Kennedy 73 — The Eagles’ undefeated streak came to an end Monday as the Falcons claimed the high-scoring affair to hand Kennedy its first loss. For Lutheran East, J. Caldwell led the offensive onslaught with 20 points while D. Porter tallied 19, D. Moore and K. Martian each posted 16 points and D. Woodard rounded out the leading Falcons scorers with 11 points. In the loss, Didi Ryan led all scorers with 28 points for Kennedy, Gianna Pompelia added 21 and Aniyah Johnson tallied 11.
