BOYS BASKETBALL
Campbell 85, Jackson-Milton 58 — Josue Rodriguez exploded for 43 points behind seven three-pointers as the Red Devils cruised to the big win over the Blue Jays. The 43 points from Rodriguez comes on the heels of his record breaking 45-point night last Monday. Adding to the Campbell win was Teyon Harris with 13 points and Christon Davis with 12. In the loss, Ryen Romigh recorded 25 points and James Croyle added 10 for Jackson-Milton.
Hubbard 50, Liberty 32 — After falling behind at the end of the first quarter, the Eagles stormed back to handedly top the Leopards. Four on Hubbard’s roster shouldered the task of scoring, but Brayden Songer’s 18 points led the bunch while Kenyen Franklin tallied 12, and Kyle Barr and Jacob Hayes each scored 10. In the loss, Evan Bates led Liberty with 10 points.
Girard 56, McDonald 46 — The Indians topped the Blue Devils to earn their third win of the season. Leading for Girard was Dom Phillips with 24 points and McDonald’s Brandon Emerick tallied 19 to lead in the loss.
Niles 56, Salem 45 — The Red Dragons used a 16-point third quarter to propel themselves to the win over the Quakers. Cash Carey-Hardin led Niles with 15 points while the duo of Izaiah Redd and Avon Fryer each added 12 points. In the loss, Evan Jones led Salem with 11 points.
South Range 54, West Branch 52 — In a game decided by two points in the fourth quarter, the Raiders came away victorious over the Warriors. Heading into the final frame, the game was deadlocked at 41 points each, but a 13-point South Range fourth quarter earned the team the win. South Range was led by Graham Heikkinen with 18 points, Luke Rohan with 17 points and Nick Toy with 13. In the loss, Cooper Anderson and Gavin Gregory led West Branch with 16 points and 10 points, respectively.
Mineral Ridge 56, Champion 29 — The Rams started the game hot with 17 points in the first quarter and kept their foot on the gas to throttle the Golden Flashes Friday night. Nearly all on Mineral Ridge’s roster tallied a point, but Kaden Shaffer led the way with 12 points and Jorden Moore added 10. In the loss, Christian Williams tallied nine points to lead Champion.
Canfield 83, East Liverpool 79 — A flock of Cardinals scored in the double digits in the high-scoring win over the Potters. Ben Weaver and Bryce Roberts each tallied 15 points to lead the team, while Drew Shapiro scored 13, Landon Shina added 12, Ray McCune lent 11 and Jake DiLisio chipped in 10 points for Canfield. For East Liverpool, Cohen Pease drilled eight three-pointers on his way to a 36-point night. Rounding out the Potters’ leading scorers were Owen Fredritz with 11 and B. Adkins with 10.
Lakeview 66, Maplewood 57 — The Bulldogs handled the Rockets to earn the win thanks in part to a 26-point fourth quarter. Doran led the charge offensively for Lakeview with 17 points, while Warner added 14 and Lantz chipped in 10 to level the Lakeview leaders. In the loss, Webster and Nevinski each tallied 18 points to split Maplewood leading scorer duties, while Manes added 10.
Howland 56, Twinsburg 45 — Howland utilized an 18-point fourth quarter, while holding Twinsburg to only nine, to claim the win. Heading into the final frame, Howland held to a two-point lead and the defense stood tall. Leading the charge offensively was Darren Douglas with 16 points and Anthony Chieffo with 14 for Howland. In the loss, Suggs tallied 11 and Broze added 10 for Twinsburg.

Poland 52, Brookfield 12 — The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead en route to a crushing win over the Warriors. Poland’s leading scorer was Lucy Harrell with 11, but nearly all Bulldogs played a role in the win. In the loss, Mariah Morris tallied seven points to lead Brookfield.
Boardman 48, Walsh Jesuit 41 — Despite a shaky second quarter, the Spartans came out of the gate strong in the second half to earn the win over the Warriors. For Boardman, Sarah Bero led with 16 points, while Jocelynn Torres tallied 11 and Mikayla Rivera boasted 10 to round out the leading scorers. Walsh Jesuit statistics were not submitted.
Western Reserve 49, Lowellville 43 — Kylee Ramsey and Izzy Mauro accounted for nearly all of the Blue Devils scoring in the seven-point victory over the Rockets. Ramsey led all scorers with 24, including 10 made free throws, and Mauro tallied 20 in the win. For Lowellville, Sydney Procick and Gianna Palumbo led with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Jackson-Milton 47, Campbell 28 — The Blue Jays jumped out to an early lead and never looked back to dominate the Red Devils. Amani Yasin led Jackson-Milton, and all scorers, with 16 points Friday evening. Nora Schwarten tallied 14 and Gabby Kerr added 11 to level the Jackson-Milton scorers. For Campbell in the loss, Rayona Floyd-Brown led with nine points.
St. Vincent-St. Mary 66, Howland 43 — The Fighting Irish stuck to an early lead and never relented to top the Tigers by over 20. K. Batchuik led SVSM with 21 points, while M. Cornute and S. Ferguson added 16 and 14 points, respectively. In the loss, Maya Kubancsek led all scorers with a game-high 25 points for Howland.
Canfield 47, Laurel 45 — Two points in the third quarter was enough for the Cardinals to squeak past the Gators. The two teams had identical scores in the remaining quarters. Jenna Triveri led Canfield with 13 points — seven of which came from the charity stripe — and Sofia Castronova added 11 thanks to a trio of triples. In the loss, Tristan Williams recorded 14 points, Liv Schneider tallied 13 and Reese Grammes added 11 for Laurel.
