BOYS BASKETBALL

Warren JFK 62, Campbell Memorial 49 — Behind 27 points from Nick Ryan, Warren JFK pulled away from Campbell 62-49 on Saturday. The Eagles also got 11 points from Preston Geracitano and nine points from Henry Phillips, while Sway Rodriguez and Jared Colon paced the Red Devils with 18 and 14 points, respectively.

Austintown Fitch 41, Cardinal Mooney 33 — Austintown Fitch pulled out a low-scoring 41-33 win over Cardinal Mooney on Saturday behind a balanced effort. EJ Giles led the Falcons with 9 points, while Marcel Finkley, Carter Owens and Braeden Sallee each scored 8 points for Fitch. Dom Letlow had 8 points to pace the Cardinals, to go along with 7 points apiece from Dante Turner and Grayson Dubos.

Warren G. Harding 69, Willoughby South 34 — Warren G. Harding picked up its fifth straight win with a 69-34 blowout road victory over Willoughby South. Chaz Coleman paced the Raiders by scoring 25 points, while Asa Burch added 13 points. Davion Herron also had 7 points for Harding.

Newton Falls 54, Lakeview 41 — Newton Falls improved to 6-4 on the season with a 54-41 victory over Lakeview on Saturday. Jadon Wagner led the Bulldogs with 13 points, while Isaiah Lantz chipped in 10 points. No Tigers stats were provided.

Grand Valley 50, Mineral Ridge 33 — Grand Valley rolled to a 50-33 victory over Mineral Ridge on Saturday behind 29 points from Carter Turk. Braden Hart added 13 points for the Mustangs. With no one in double figures, the Rams were led by 9 points from Chase Moore.

Poland 50, Hubbard 47 — In a contest that was tight throughout, Poland held off Hubbard 50-47 on Saturday in a key Northeast-8 Conference clash. Carmine Tukalo led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Oliver McCully added 10 points. Kyle Barr and Jakob Hayes carried the Eagles by each scoring 20 points and combining to hit seven 3-pointers.

Springfield 59, Girard 51 — Springfield raced out to a hot start in the first quarter and weathered a second-quarter surge by Girard to down the Indians 59-51 on Saturday. Carson Cunningham scored 21 points and pulled down 5 rebounds for the Tigers to go with 10 points and 6 assists from Aiden Appel. Dom Tolone paced the Indians with 22 points, while Dom Phillips added 14.

Niles 50, Struthers 45 –Niles held off Struthers in a 50-45 victory in a Northeast-8 Conference contest on Saturday. Tre Carey Hardin spurred the Red Dragons with 13 points, as Avon Fryer added 12 points for Niles. Meanwhile, Struthers had three players in double figures, including Tyler Cole (14), Tyzjere Price (13) and EJ Hines (11). Each team knocked down eight 3-pointers.

Valley Christian 56, Columbiana 37 — Valley Christian ran away from conference foe Columbiana 56-37 on Saturday to hand the Clippers their first loss of the season. Deion Miller hit four 3-pointers en route to scoring a game-high 22 points for the Eagles, while Jaylen Robinson added 10 points. Seth Struharik led the Clippers with 17 points.

Louisville 79, West Branch 56 — West Branch struggled to slow down a high-scoring Louisville squad in a 79-56 defeat on Saturday. Camden Lane hit six 3-pointers to lead the Warriors with 26 points, while Jeremiah Thomas was the other West Branch double-figure scorer with 17 points. The Leopards knocked down 13 threes in the win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Canfield 45, Howland 44 — Carly Fleming hit a go-ahead, game-winning 3-pointer with 18 seconds left to help Canfield stay unbeaten (14-0) with a 45-44 victory over conference rival Howland on Saturday. Fleming and Jenna Triveri each put up 15 points for the Cardinals, while Rylie Villwock led Howland with 12 points, to go along with 11 points from Maya Kubanscek.
