GIRLS BASKETBALL
Howland 61, Fitch 44 — The Tigers snapped a two-game skid with Wednesday’s win over the Falcons. Maya Kubancsek’s 17 points paced the Tigers while Rylie Villwock added 15 and Sophia Powell lent 13. For Fitch, Samantha Severn recorded a team-high 16 points and Rachel Spalding tallied 10 points.
Ursuline 47, East 40 — The Fighting Irish claimed the Wednesday contest over the Golden Bears after falling behind in the first half. Kennedy Carpenter scored 16 points for Ursuline while Sophia Oravec and Kenyah Gill added 10 and 11 points, respectively. For East in the loss, Brionna Wright led with 12 points.
Wellsville 34, East Palestine 19 — The Tigers topped the Bulldogs due in part to the Wellsville second half. Poppelrider led the charge for Wellsville with a game-high 20 points. For East Palestine in the loss, Jacklyn Ogle paced the Bulldogs with 10 points.
Boardman 37, Harding 35 — The Spartans mounted a second half comeback to edge out the Raiders. Leading Boardman offensively was Sarah Bero with a game-high 18 points and Mikayla Rivera added 10. Harding’s Akeelha Barnes led the Raiders with 16 points.
Kennedy 62, Mogadore 32 — The Eagles toppled the Wildcats thanks to an explosive first half. Didi Ryan led the offensive charge with a game-high 20 points, Hannah Myers added 14 and Gianna Pompelia tallied 13 points for Kennedy in the win. For Mogadore, Amelia Morris led with eight points in the loss.
Mineral Ridge 75, South Range 40 — The Rams’ offense stood tall in the massive win over the Raiders. Sullivan Sandy played a crucial role in that offensive attack with 28 points to lead Mineral Ridge while Ava Hulett added 15 and Kadence Conaway lent 13 points to round out the leading scorers. South Range statistics were not provided.
Carrollton 56, Salem 39 — It was a close contest Wednesday night but the 16-point fourth quarter posted by the Warriors earned them the win over the Quakers. Kylie Ujcich scored a game-high 27 points behind four made three-pointers and Emma Shafer added 11 to lead Carrollton. For Salem, Reese Davidson-Chuck tallied 10 points in the loss.
