GIRLS BASKETBALL
Girard 58, Hubbard 21 — The Indians jumped ahead early and never looked back to throttle the Eagles. Aly Gassman paced Girard with 23 points and Makenzee White lent 17 points in the win. For Hubbard, Layla Songer led with 10 points in the loss.
Mineral Ridge 60, Campbell 19 — The Rams cruised to the dominant win over the Red Devils Thursday night in the Mineral Ridge season finale. The Rams were led by Ava Hulett with 20 points and Sullivan Sandy with 14. Campbell statistics were not submitted. Looking forward to the playoffs, Mineral Ridge will host Our Lady of the Elms at Mineral Ridge Feb. 15.
Niles 42, South Range 36 — The Red Dragons claimed their fourth consecutive win with the victory over the Raiders Thursday night. Ava Ferri paced Niles with 13 points while Kherington Stanford contributed 11 points, nine of which came from the charity stripe. In the loss, Sophia Lucente tallied 11 points for South Range.
Columbiana 66, Poland 49 — The Clippers remain unbeaten following the win over the Bulldogs. Ava Heinrich was seemingly automatic from beyond the arc, drilling six shots from three on her way to a game-high 24 points for Columbiana while Annah Clemmer added 16. In the loss, Lucy Harrell led the Poland offense with 15 points.
Champion 32, Newton Falls 29 — The Golden Flashes dealt the Tigers a loss Thursday night despite trailing heading into the final frame. Kennedy Caldwell led the way for Champion thanks to four made three pointers. In the loss, Lilly Sait led Newton Falls with 12 points.
Badger 51, Mathews 35 — The first half was the difference maker for the Braves in the win over the Mustangs. Leading the offensive charge for Badger was Gabriella Miller who led all scorers with 25 points while Sophie Stanhope lent 11. In the loss, Rilee Paddock paced Mathews with 15 points.
