Several local athletes sign NLIs for colleges
A number of local athletes put pen to paper during National Signing Day on Wednesday, as they made their respective decisions about the next step of their academic and athletic careers.
At Warren G. Harding, four student-athletes signed to play football in college, including Devon Morgan, Kenneth Byrd and Raylin Adams, who all signed for Baldwin Wallace, while Marcus Crum signed for Waynesburg (Pa.).
Ursuline’s Phillip Bowser also committed and signed to play football at West Virginia, and at Austintown Fitch, kicker Anthony Ruggles signed to continue his football career at Toledo.
Meanwhile at Struthers, standout offensive lineman Vince Boila signed to play football at Robert Morris.
Two Canfield athletes also signed, including Carson Arfaras, who will continue his tennis career at Mount Union, and Cardinals’ star Angelo DeLucia, who will play football in Athens at Ohio University.
Then at Howland, Gracie Villwock signed to continue her soccer career at John Carroll.
Lowellville had three student-athletes sign, including Geno Perry, who will play football at Westminster (Pa.), Liam Bartlett, who will play baseball at La Roche, and Hadassah Rivera, who will play volleyball at Valley Forge.
Finally, Cardinal Mooney’s Carlos Gomez signed to continue his football career at Walsh, while at Poland’s Lainey McGivern will join the stunt team at Tiffin.
