Crestview’s Rhodes named Division V Player of the Year

Crestview’s Addison Rhodes got one more accolade from the high school girls basketball season.
Rhodes was named the Division V Player of the Year as the all-state teams for Division IV, V, VI and VII were released on Monday.
Rhodes averaged 26.1 points per game with 7.4 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 3.2 assists as a junior. She helped lead the Rebels to a 21-4 record and an appearance in the district title game at Woodridge High School. They fell to the eventual regional runner-up, Canton South, 46-42 in overtime.
DIVISION IV
The area didn’t get any locals on the top two teams in Division IV, but Canfield’s Jenna Triveri was named third team after averaging 14.4 points per game.
Three local girls got special mention with West Branch sophomore Audrey Eaton, Salem senior Reese Davidson-Chuck and Niles sophomore Kherington Stanford making the list.
West Branch junior Tallie Muniz was the lone local to receive honorable mention.
DIVISION V
In addition to Rhodes, the Rebels also got special mention for senior Luvrain Gaskins. Joining Gaskins as Pymatuning Valley senior Zoey Painter.
Garrettsville Garfield junior Mandy Cardinal got honorable mention along with South Range junior Gwen Lowry.
DIVISION VI
Ava Hulett, a Mineral Ridge senior and Trumbull County Player of the Year, was named to the second team after scoring 18.2 points per game. Springfield forward Jameka Brungard was received second-team honors with a 17.0 scoring average.
The third team featured Grand Valley sophomore Cloe Turk, who scored 14.1 per game.
Columbiana senior Ava Heinrich was a part of the special mention.
Another Clipper was got postseason credit as senior Ellie Venezia got honorable mention. Honorable mention also featured Grand Valley freshman Breanna Rowland.
DIVISION VII
Despite missing the end of the season to injury, Warren JFK sophomore Didi Ryan made the second team with a 17.9 points per game average.
Bristol sophomore Lauren Church got special mention, joining Western Reserve senior Isabella Mauro and Maplewood junior Morgan Himes.
A quartet of locals also received honorable mention. They were Badger senior Gabriella Miller, Warren JFK junior Gianna Pompelia, Maplewood freshman Claire Urchek and Western Reserve’ junior Quincy Willer.
