High School Sports Roundup from Feb. 28
GIRLS BOWLING
The Struthers girls bowling team completed its season with the Division II state championship in Columbus.
The Wildcats placed 11th with a team total of 3,286.
Sophomore Angelina Donofrio was the top Wildcat with a score of 536, good enough for 33rd. Sofia Previte was 59th after scoring a 491, Clare Coppola came in 64th with a 484, Makenzie Granger recorded a 480 for a tie for 66th and Jonice Coats rounded out the Struthers scores with a 479 for 68th.
St. Paris Graham won the team title with a 3,690, and Napoleon junior Arianna Kiessling bowled a 703 for the individual crown.
BOYS WRESTLING
Across the state, boys district wrestling tournaments conclude today. The Mahoning Valley is represented in four different tournaments, all of which began Friday, across each of the three divisions by athletes who either placed in the top four at sectionals last weekend or are alternates.
The respective tournaments’ top four placers in each weight class will advance to the OHSAA state tournament next weekend in Columbus.
