Several locals make all-state in Division I, II and III

The final round of All-Ohio basketball teams were released on Thursday, and several area hoopers got postseason recognition.

Warren G. Harding senior Chaz Coleman was named to the first team in Division II.

Coleman’s 21.0 point per game average helped power the Raiders to a 19-5 record and 7-1 mark in All-American Conference play.

The Raiders beat Hudson in a district title before falling to eventual state runner-up Massillon Perry in the regional semifinals.

Coleman wasn’t the only Raider to catch voters’ eyes. Myles Miller also received honorable mention.

Sticking in Division II, Boardman guard Terrell McDowell earned an special mention nod.

The senior averaged 17.0 points as the Spartans saw a turnaround in 2025. McDowell helped lead Boardman to a 12-10 season before dropping a district semifinal in the final minutes to Avon, who went on to win the district.

The final D-II honoree was Austintown Fitch’s Marcel Finkley, who received honorable mention.

Finkley led the Falcons with 17.2 points per game. With the senior’s help, Fitch went 10-13 and 4-4 in the AAC. The Falcons came up short in the district semifinal, losing to Broadview Heights.

Division III only saw one area athlete honored. Chaney junior Allen Hill Jr. got honorable mention.

Hill averaged 15.0 points for the Cowboys, who finished the year 13-10 and 4-2 in the Steel Valley Conference.

The Cowboys finished second behind Ursuline in the SVC, and they beat Chardon in a sectional semifinal, but they ell to Tallmadge in the sectional final to end their season.

The girls all-state teams were announced Monday and Tuesday. And the Division IV, V, VI and VII boys teams were released on Wednesday.
